    I can’t recommend this over a proper PCVR rig with 2 base stations or an Oculus Quest. If you love Ps then by all means it work well enough and you’ll be able to have some fun but you are not truly able to enjoy high movement vr to it’s utmost potential on PSVR. it is hampered by the old Ps3 move controllers and the camera’s inability to track them if the orb is obstructed in anyway. ( This includes simply holding them in your hand with the orb facing away from camera. )

    Other details: Fairly comfortable and Clear when adjusted for inter-papillary distance.
    – There can be some light leak around edges but it isn’t too noticeable
    – You cannot reliably play this in the day time in front of a window even if the blinds are closed. you will have tracking issues. Black out shades recommended.
    – Charging Controllers is a hassle because you will need an old mini-usb cable from the ps3 era and then you will only be able to charge one at a time if don’t have another cable and are not using the other usb port on your Ps4
    – Charge time to from drained to full is very slow.

    Arrived earlier than initially expected. Everything worked great. I searched every store within a hundred miles of where I live. online and in store. for weeks trying to find this and had zero luck. I was hesitant to buy. but glad I did.

    I have a separately purchased 3D monitor and have viewed 3D Blu-ray movies with the monitor by using polarized glasses. but watching a 3D movie with the PSVR is a better experience. With the PSVR. it is as if you are in a virtual movie theater looking at a big screen in front of you. I wish that I could lock the position of the back of the headset so that it doesn’t feel as though my head is being squeezed.

    The setup documentation that came with the PSVR doesn’t seem to mention that volume control buttons are on the underside of the front left of the visor. There are two buttons in a circular pattern. One button increases volume. and the other button decreases volume. A speaker icon appears in the upper left of the virtual screen when you press either of these volume control buttons. and the number of waves in front of the speaker indicate the volume. My initial impression of the PSVR ear buds was that the volume was too low. but once I figured out the volume control buttons. I could adjust the volume higher.

    Also. it’s not obvious that the icon for adjusting the position of the virtual screen is referring to the Option button on the PlayStation controller. because the symbol looks like the silhouette of the PSVR when viewed from above with the button in the upper right for adjusting the distance of the lenses from your eyes. At one point. I was staring at the floor. because that is where the virtual screen was. I went through the Settings menu to adjust the virtual screen position when I could have simply stared straight ahead and held down the Option button to reset the position of the virtual screen.

    One other problem I had was with the redemption system for getting the Iron Man game and the PlayStation VR Demo Collection 3 software. The PlayStation Store lets you enter both redemption codes consecutively. but. if you do that. the store only allows you to download the software for the last redemption code that you entered. My PlayStation 4 is in the process of downloading the PlayStation VR Collection 3 software. but Iron Man is not in the download queue. The PlayStation Store is not allowing me to download or to purchase Iron Man because it says I already own the Iron Man game even though the game has not been downloaded to my computer. I later learned that I had to exit the PlayStation Store and go to the complete opposite end of the menu and go into Library / Purchased to download the Iron Man game. That was very unintuitive.

    While far from perfect. the PSVR is a great entry point into VR gaming for anyone who already has the Sony console. The only semi major issue in personally have with it is the lack of a d pad or thumb sticks on the PSMove controllers. it’s only thanks to sthe developers oftentimes clever work arounds for said issue that I didn’t remove any stars. Compared to other VR systems I’d consider this one to be average or just below average but I rated this not in regards to VR Gaming as a whole but as a unique stand alone device and experience and it is definitely worth the cost.

    So angry and disappointed I had to buy other pieces for the VR the camera piece didn’t even fit from the back was the wrong one it didn’t come with no headphones that are supposed to be on the headset the controllers won’t charge and it didn’t come with a charger!! On one of the controllers the wrist string is missing and when I opened the box the system was all sticky and dirty

    This came packed with none of the normal packaging. just sitting loose in the boxes. The small box(within the larger box) was laying open. Everything smells strange and musty. an almost sickening smell. It makes it hard to use for extended periods of time. Can’t seem to get the smell out. Lenses are severely scratched. making it difficult to use. Every piece of this equipment is damaged and scratched. The game came in a case that was so badly damaged that it won’t close. Good thing I had a backup HDMI cable as the one that was supposed to come with it was not there. The controllers had no charging cables. This would not even come close to the category of “gently new” or even “refurbished.” The condition is so poor that you could only morally sell this for parts. Even receiving this as a gift would be considered rude.

    About a month into the PSVR purchase and overall the experience has been decent. The Iron Man game itself looks great to me. but the controls were difficult to me.     I have looked at going 3D for years but never could afford it. This was the right price at the right time. If you have never seem head mounted 3D. You won’t believe how great it is. Compared to 3D TV this is several times better. Warning! To really get the most from the experience you need to have a clear area. I had to move Furniture to get enough arm room. But it was worth it.

    PSVR – Amazing. Only complaint is the distance the camera and VR headset have to be from each other. With the camera mounted on my TV at one of the living room. I can’t sit on my couch on the opposite end without it telling me I’m out of range.

    Ironman VR – Meh. Great title for the experience only. If it was a game sans VR headset you would never play it. Get Blood and Truth or Resident Evil 7.

    This might not happen to all PS VR headsets but when I got mine its cord kept twisting it makes it so if I go to far the cord will come out of the adapter box and every time I try to untwist it turns off headset and when I turn it back on is takes a while to recalibrate but when I turn it off manually it would recalibrate fast another downfall is the mic people would here static a lot I think its due to the cord but I have to smack the headset to stop the static but it picks up my air conditioner so the mic is to sensitive but the other stuff is good I don’t got a problem playing any thing

    If you wear glasses. it is recommended to wear them but be weary it will scratch the lenses. Other than that the outer rubber part is not exactly the best in tact and can be taken off easily. but can be put back on fairly easily too.

    I was really hoping VR had improved by now. But there is still that slightly out of focus look. It’s not an immersive VR experience either. it looks like I’m looking through a tube. A round border is visible around the visuals. I couldn’t get rid of it no matter how I adjusted the cumbersome headgear. Speaking of cumbersome. there is a lot of gear to hookup on this unit and it all seems to do little to improve the overall experience. I’m disappointed. The overall physical parts of this setup are good. nothing seems flimsy or cheap. But the bulky headset became uncomfortable after 10 minutes or so. I’m to the point now where I wouldn’t recommend VR. of any brand. to anyone. A lot of money and not much bang for the buck.

    Love the PlayStation VR. The camera was a pain to situate because it’s cylindrical and rolls when you put it on a surface. Needs a flat bottom. But otherwise. we love it. And the Iron Man game is amazing

    My son’s most wanted 12th birthday gift this has. so far. lived up to the hype for a huge Iron Man fan. Not sure how long the infatuation will last but. for now. he’s pretty thrilled with the experience and. having tried it myself. can say it does feel both immersive and exciting. Would love to see more games to take advantage of the platform now that we have it. but so far it’s provided hours of fun for my boys. which is a blessing since they’re spending so much time alone.

    The VR was exactly what my daughter wanted. She really didn’t care for the game but it was one of the only VRs available at the time. Haven’t had any problems with anything. Set up was easy. would recommend.

    Great product to do VR gaming if you can’t invest for a computer however I do have recommendations. make sure you have a lot of space since cable management can get messy. make sure that you don’t have anything reflective in the background from your camera view since it can mess with the controls. if you have windows where the sun can shine in make sure to close your blinds or curtains. if you can I highly recommend setting the PS camera at least 1 foot above your head while playing VR trust me it helps a lot and gives you a better experience. and if you can buy an Anti Fog Spray for the lens of the VR headset since the lens can constantly fog up at times other than that you’ll have a lot of fun with the many VR games there are including exclusive VR games for the PS4.
